Meridian Integration Completes Successful CC&B Upgrade

Meridian Integration (Meridian), a leader in utility business and technology solutions, announced the completion of its Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd. (BL&P) upgrade to CC&B version 2.4. The three-month effort involved an interactive fit-gap analysis of configuration and application functionality, the conversion of over seven years of historical customer data, and the redevelopment and testing of reports, interfaces, and other elements of customized code. For this effort, Meridian partnered with Split Rock Consulting, Inc. (Split Rock).

“We are very excited about the outcome of this upgrade and the results which we were able to achieve. BL&P voiced a tremendous level of satisfaction with the effort,” says Zendrick Cunningham, Meridian CEO. “There are only a handful of CC&B upgrades which have been accomplished within this timeframe.”

Meridian was responsible for project management, data conversion, the delivery of text-based, table and XAI driven interfaces, and the conversion of Java and COBOL plug-ins. They were also responsible for the substantial redevelopment effort of approximately 200 Business Objects Crystal Reports for use in Oracle BI Publisher. In addition, Meridian led the fit-gap analysis effort, which involved comparing functionality utilized by BL&P in the 2.0.5 version of CC&B to the newer 2.4, in order to identify configuration, business process, and training impacts that had to be addressed during the upgrade.

Amanda Bayley, the BL&P Project Director and Customer Services Functional Business Analyst, states, “Meridian’s team brought their skills, knowledge and innovative approaches to our project. We gave them an extremely aggressive timeframe for the implementation, and their experience and ability to adapt to changing project conditions, allowed us to see major successes very early on in the project. Meridian was able to marry their knowledge of the CC&B application with their home-grown product offering, the Meridian Migration Manager. As a result, our testers had reliable data with which to test our many business processes and reports, in very short order.” Bayley continues, “In the end, Meridian went above and beyond what was expected. This allowed us to benefit from an uneventful go-live weekend, which saw the fastest conversion processing window for the project and a stable system immediately thereafter.”

We were able to breakdown our activities and processes in a way that will allow us to transfer them to our other projects.
